I know that the vast majority of people today seem to buy the mountain bike as their choice because of its relatively increased comfort. How many actually take them off road?

Mountain biking has been one of my greatest loves for many years-not just the speed but the scenery and being able to pick through difficult terrain. So is a mountain bike really the best choice for a street bike?
